  • sure you have "neurospicy accomodations" (stim toys and slime) at your support group meeting but are masks required. is it wheelchair accessible? is the lighting harsh or flickering? is there a place to go if you're upset or overstimulated? is there a clear schedule? does anyone in the group speak sign language? could a nonverbal person participate? are there multiple options for activities? is there music? is it loud? is there food? how many options are there? are there common allergens in it? are they clearly labelled? are there flashing lights? can you attend virtually? are hallways and pathways clear? are there accessible bathrooms? do they have a sharps box? do they have space for someone to transfer from a wheelchair to a toilet? do they have space for a caregiver or support worker? are there enough places to sit down? is there enough space for everyone to be without crowding? can people opt-out of planned activities? et cetera...

  • 1bedroom/1bath’s being $1800+…… we have to start lighting landlords on fire. i’m so serious

  • I need you all to know that in the Hungarian translation of Good Omens, Crowley calls Aziraphale 'angyalkám' which translates to 'my little angel' and this term of endearment is solely used between lovers

which had me curious about other languages and in fact Crowley calls Aziraphale a variation of 'my angel' in other languages, in french I believe it's 'l’angelot/angelot' which means little angel/soft angel

  • Also in the Hungarian translation Crowley says “I long for something else...” instead of “I’d like to spend..” and Aziraphale says “I will forgive this” instead of “I forgive you” We are literally a homophobic country and we still said GAY RIGHTS

  • image

“Is my presence enough” “no” UGH

  • Oh GOD you made me go check out the german and dutch versions of That Scene and in german Crowley says “Und ich würd gern mit-...” (”and i would like to (...) with-...) which is admittedly quite close to the original but in dutch they changed a line, instead of “you can’t leave this bookshop”, he says “jij kunt hier niet weg, engel” (”you can’t leave here, angel”) and he says it in SUCH A SOFT VOICE i need to LIE DOWN. i don’t usually like dubs but jesus these dutch voice actors put their ENTIRE PUSSIES into it, crowley’s voice is breaking and everything it’s FANTASTIC

  • You are evil for making me choose

  • the most sordid aspect of FIDE banning trans women from chess competitions is that in the previous weeks there seems to have been a reckoning in terms of sexual abusers still being allowed in chess competitions and many women (including multiple trans women) spoke up and were fighting about it. and FIDE's response was to call trans women the greatest threat to women's chess which is so telling lmaoooooo

  • it was literally initiated two weeks before by an open letter first signed by 14 female chess players in france (including yosha iglesias, a trans woman) and that has now been signed by more than a hundred of them. a shitton of people responded by claiming they were infected by "wokism" and "gender ideology" for pointing out sexual violence and misogyny in the chess world. FIDE responded on august 11 claiming to be against sexual violence and misogyny..... and then banned trans women four days later, to the acclaim of transmisogynists who didn't actually give a shit about sexual violence or misogyny in chess lmao. this edict has also absolutely fucked over yosha iglesias, already the victim of horrifying harassment over speaking out about sexual violence at all, and now doubly so over the fact that she is unsure she can even participate in the french women's tournament which is days away. it's calculated and cruel in ways i can barely stand.

  • What if we got rid of the television? The Internet? It would give us back our sense of place, but also our pain, and for that reason it's a nonstarter, absence of pain being what we strive for and have always striven for, this is the essence of modern life. It's why we live in the image of the world rather than in the world itself.

  • An important message to heterosexuals, listen carefully: you do not, and I repeat do NOT, have to marry someone you actively dislike, don't enjoy spending time with and/or whose hobbies you despise. You do not have to do that!! stop doing that!!!

  • "hahaha I hate my wife and made an entire room of the house dedicated to evading her company"

"hahaha I hate my husband and I drink industrial quantities of wine to cope with having had kids with him"

    MAYBE STOP?

  • no one butchered tongue posting? no one crying about the preservation of native languages or lack thereof? no one emotional about what it means to lose your language to colonial violence and have it only preserved through place names you can't translate any more? I'm going to kill someone

  • its been about 10 years since she showed me this but i am STILL thinking about how my (then) 4 year old cousin drew birds

    image

OBSESSED with this creature; she draws the body from above/below and the head from the side, with a giant eyeball that takes up the entire head and never looks in a specific direction. in a very old-fashioned sense: iconic

  • the. the whole point is that. is that it doesn’t work. and the only people it works on aren’t good people they just want to hurt others. watch the ffucking movie before criticizing it

  • sorry this is still so funny to me you literally missed the entire point of the movie

  • Literally every single fucking character “helped” by jigsaw or one of his copycats shows up in a later movie as a serial killer or jigsaw copycat. Maybe some minor survivors from a cold open trap don’t return, but there’s no reason to think they are doing well.

Jigsaw thinks that torture can be used to help people appreciate life but that doesn’t mean “torturing bad people is ok” is the theme of the films particularly if you take a second to remember he’s the villain.

  • The most important unifying principle [of vigilante cinema] is the dismissal of social institutions, assumed to be effete and worthless, and the picking up of the gun not in support of the revolutionary violence but as validation of the bourgeois subject’s right to strike out at a dysfunctional system whose key role is to protect the middle class and its property rights….

The Saw films are predicated on this essential principle. While Jigsaw wanders around his lair in a robe rather than roam the streets with a gun, his kinship with the vigilante tradition is evident and noteworthy. The poisoned urban decay that makes up the atmosphere of the franchise is not the product of a collapsed social system, even when the occasional bigwig is the victim. Individual choice, the clarion call of the American civilizing project, informs Saw and is consistent with its ideology. Although Jigsaw’s project seems to be one of “reformism,” his course is one of obliteration, including self-annihilation. The impulse toward destruction and suicide has been basic to the conservative vision of America since its inception, preferring conflagration to rational social change….

The notion of teaching old-fashioned values through torture and murder might tend to make one read the Saw films as a parody of the Bush years, were there any real signs of intelligence on display, including a touch of humor given a manifestly ridiculous character and situation. But the filmmakers are far too smitten by the idea that Jigsaw might “have something” to his morality. The films are enamored of the clearness of their plot structures, which are not nearly as intricate (or as interesting) as the flash cuts and wrenching, non-linear editing would make them appear.

ALTERNATIVE FASHION THAT GOES UP TO 7XL

Swimsuits. Has gender neutral option. A few T-shirts. Alternative style. Goes up to 6XL

(And no. Me saying "dressies" isn't me being infantilizing. That's just how I talk when I see cute dressies.)

And these people use plus sized models to show off their plus sized clothing on tiktok.
